Read the poem. 


1.  What is your reaction to Chesterfield? 
  My reaction to Chesterfield is that he is a stand up guy that is trying to prepare his son for the future.


2. What attitudes and behavior seem to be the most important to Chesterfield?Write a paragraph giving examples from  text and showing examples of parallelism.  Support Chesterfield's relationship with his son.  Support your ideas with evidence for the letter
    Chesterfiled supports positive behavior and attitude, he does not want his son to be mistreated by the world that is upcoming. For example, Chesterfield said, " Men are much more unwilling to have their weaknesses and their imperfections known, than their crimes: and, if you hint to a man that you think him silly, ignorant, or even ill-bred or awkward, he will hate you more, and longer, than if you tell him plainly that you think him a rogue."  All Chesterfield wants is for his son to marry well.

1.What generalizations can you make about 18th century views of education and marriage based on Lady Montagu's observations. 
  The 18th century views of education and marriage is that education wasn't really important to women the education they mostly needed was about marriage how to get a husband and take care of your family school education wasn't likely for women.


2.What is the tone of this letter?
  The tone  is smooth and educational.

3.  Write a letter to your child giving advice about the future.  If you do not have a child, write one for your future child? 

 Son, im writing you this letter to help you be the young man that im raising you to be when youre all grown up, to help you understand this world that we are living in. when youre grown up the ways may be different from how i grew up but these rules still applies. be true to your self, have your own mind don't listen to advice specially bad even good make sure you do something because thats what you wanted to do if later on you regret it then you wont have no one to blame but uyour self and that way youll be able to solve that within your self always think about the consequences before you do something so that way youll know what youre getting into before you get into it.
